At The Launching Of Diamond FM 98.5 Bamemda, Something happened.

For the first time in the long, unwritten story of media in Bamenda—for the first time in the history of radio echoing through these highlands—I witnessed something that stopped me in my tracks. I saw a future, bright and undeniable, for radio and media in this city.

I saw them with my own eyes: journalists from almost every major radio station in Bamenda and beyond, gathered not as rivals, but as family. I saw managers and deputy managers and proprietors, the pillars of our media houses, seated together in rare and beautiful harmony. They came with one purpose—to support and nurture the growth of Dream FM, which on this day, transformed before us into something new: Diamond Community Radio. Diamond FM.

For the first time in my life, I stood in a room where the young and restless and the old and wise breathed the same air, beat the same drum. They knew, without a word, what it means to be united in one voice. They understood the force they carry when they stand as one.
And it wasn't just the media elite. The spirit spilled into the streets. Bike riders rolled in, engines humming with curiosity. Food sellers and fruit vendors packed up their goods and joined the crowd. Neighbors stepped out of their homes, friends embraced, children wove through legs and laughter—all drawn to this moment, all part of this unfolding story.

Afrique Nouvelle, the mother station, stood tall in attendance. Radio Hot Cocoa brought its warmth. City FM brought its pulse. And so many others came, adding their voices to the chorus.
As they say, together we stand stronger. Together, we can weather any storm.
I pray today that the spirit I witnessed in those journalists, those proprietors, those everyday Bamenda people—this unity, this collective fire—spreads like morning light through every sector of our society. May that same understanding and support take root in every profession, every corner of this city and beyond.

Long live Diamond Fm Radio Bamenda Diamond Community Radio. Long live the media family of Bamenda. Long live Bamenda.
