Being selected to serve on the jury for Goethe-Institut Kamerun’s Goethe Découverte 2026 was more than a privilege—it was a humbling, electrifying, and transformative responsibility.
When I sat down to evaluate this year’s talents, I quickly realized: this would be no easy task. We were met with an avalanche of creative brilliance—raw, powerful, and deeply moving. The sheer depth of skill and emotion on display was staggering. And yet, with only a handful of spots available, we had to make impossible choices.

But beyond the tough decisions, what truly reshaped me was the community. My fellow jury members challenged and expanded my thinking with every conversation. And the contestants—fearless, authentic, and bursting with vision—taught me more than any workshop ever could.
This wasn’t just an assignment. It was a life-changing experience. It completely rewired how I see art, talent, and the future of Cameroon’s creative landscape. My perspective will never be the same.
